ELECTRIC FORD F-150 LIGHTNING

FORD TO UNVEIL THE RETURN OF THE LIGHTNING ON MAY 19, 2021!

A New Kind of Lightning

The original F-150 Lightnings were gas powered high performance trucks and they were seriously cool - I remember my desire to own one when I first saw one tear away at a stop light. They were produced in two different generational models from 1993-1995 and then again from 1999-2004 by SVT, Ford's Special Vehicle Team.

To no surprise...the upcoming version is all electric, faster, and more capable than its older siblings. Do we see a trend here? By the way, how old school do those pictures look above?

Ford President and CEO says:

"F-150 Lightning can power your home during an outage; it’s even quicker than the original F-150 Lightning performance truck; and it will constantly improve through over-the-air updates.”

The Reveal of The Ford F-150 Lightning

This May 19th at 9:30pm EDT Ford will reveal the all new all electric Ford F150 Lightning from their World Headquarters. You can watch it live on YouTube as well as 30 other channels.

A High-Tech Production Plant

A new truck like this needs an upgraded production facility. Ford says their facility will be focused on quality and commitment to sustainability at their most advanced production plant - Ford Rouge Complex - which recently received a $700 Million investment in anticipation and preparation of the new F-150 Electric truck.

According to a study done by Boston Consulting Group: The F-Series pickup contributes approximately 500,000 jobs to the U.S. Economy and overall the Ford brand contributes about 1,000,000 jobs total. Wow! Thank you Ford.
