Morgan Plus Four CX-T Forges a New Path

The "T" is for Trail

What is a Morgan Plus Four CX-T?

You're looking at the newest addition to the Morgan Family - the Plus Four CX-T. Doesn't it look like a movie car from Mad Max?

We mean that in a good way.

Watch it shred...

It was built as a special project to be a "British adventure vehicle" and take on just about anything that's thrown its way. Apparently Morgan owners have been winning all-terrain events since 1911 with their own prepped cars and this seems to pay homage to that.

According to Jonathan Wells, Morgan's Head of Design:

"The project was unrestrained and born entirely from a desire to create an exciting British adventure vehicle. For me, it's a complete package: historical integrity, legitimate capability, and a brand-new adventure-lead aesthetic."

What's the name all about?

The "T" is for Trail and the "CX" refers to the name of the aluminum platform that is utilized in this and other Morgan models.

How to create an overland vehicle from a Morgan

In order to create this off-roader from a standard Morgan, a partnership was formed with Rally Raid UK - off-road adventure professionals.

Mike Jones of Rally Raid UK said he applied his experience from, not only a lifetime of overlanding, but also 13 Dakar Rallies and 60 Dakar vehicle builds!

Those are some serious credentials. So how did they modify it?

They did a lot really...

Rally Raid has improved the vehicle by adding new coilovers, suspension arms, off-road tires, increased ground clearance, a three-mode locking differential, a versatile rear equipment rack, a full 5-piece underbody protection system and bespoke side-exit exhaust to aid with off road angles.

Looking at it, we believe it all comes together to create something that truly works.

Cool. Me too. But...

There is one downside. Morgan will only build 8. Yes, 8. And the cost is over $200k.

Aside from that, its awesome.
