The Wingless GT3 Touring Emerges: Now With A PDK Option!
What Is A GT3 Touring?
The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is a Wingless GT3. One that you feel more undercover driving around in public. The wing is super cool and defines the car in some ways, but is definitely a personal preference, so it's nice that Porsche has offered the option to delete it for customers right from the factory. Although some lucky owners are already deleting it on their own in very short time.
What Else?
Additionally, in comparison to the previous 991 GT3 Touring models, there are much less restrictions for customers choosing to tick the Touring Package box on their build. For instance, the Touring Package is a no cost option, and you can choose between PDK or 6 speed manual - both of which were not the case previously.

What We Love...
Clean Looks
It's all personal preference. Some will love the wing and some won't. That said, I personally don't love the new wing and I always prefer stealth and clean looks. If given the option - I'm going Touring!
The Design
We think they nailed the design this year. It just looks so right. We wouldn't order ours with the aluminum silver window surrounds as in Porsche's Press Photos, but again, personal preference.
The Shifter
Just as the debate over the wing could go on forever with no clear answer, so could the transmission choice! But in this case, the new PDK bows with a very "manual" look and feel - making it that much harder to choose.
The gap between manual and auto is certainly narrowing.
My take? I don't know anymore. Depends on my mood. Some days I feel like driving manual, and others I'm happy to use PDK - especially because PDK is just so damn good all the time. Either way, it's nice to have options like this.
No Extra Cost For Less
Usually the cost to have less costs more. Not in this case. Although, the price of the GT3 is creeping up like mad - and that's without the ridiculous dealer markups and scarcity - so perhaps they've built all that into the price.
