2022 BMW C400GT and NEAR FUTURE ELECTRIC DEFINITION CE 04


BMW calls it "Urban Mobility" - we call it a scooter. Whatever you call it, BMW is mixing up the scooter market more than anyone else right now. This year BMW has decided to narrow down their choices for scooters to just one in the US - The C400GT. And in the near future, we will see an electric scooter, currently dubbed the Definition CE 04 in concept form.


The 2022 BMW C400GT

This scooter is a refreshed model with some key changes. The most noticeable changes include a new e-throttle, Automatic Stability Control, braking system, lighted storage compartment and the improved driving components for Grand Touring (hence GT) comfort.


C400GT Specs:

  • 350cc engine

  • 34 hp and 26 lb-ft

  • CVT Auto Transmission

  • e-throttle

  • 6.5 inch TFT screen with Connectivity

  • Keyless ride

  • High Windshield

  • Optional Navigation

MSRP: $8,495 (plus destination and handling)


The Future: Definition CE 04

This "near future" all electric concept scooter finds new ways to improve the riding and commuting experience. We like some of the thoughtful innovations such as:

  • All electric - zero emissions

  • Lighted Parka for extra visibility to other motorists - changeable colors

  • Large Screen with Fully Connected capability including navigation

  • Highly adjustable seat

Our Thoughts:

These innovations for the concept are awesome and we'd expect to see them on ALL BIKES moving forward. Electric is happening no matter what, but why not have lighted parkas for higher visibility, more useful and connected screens (apple car play - ahem) and highly adjustable seats! Adjustable seats should be on every bike! I know BMW makes an up down adjust on a few seats, but they should all be able to slide up/down/forward/back and even tilt.


In the meantime, if you're in the market for Full Size Urban Mobility solution (scooter) put the C400GT on your short list. After all, it is the BMW of scooters.
